USDEC Cheese Mission to Central America
March 17–25, 2025
Guatemala City, Guatemala / San Jose, Costa Rica / Panama City, Panama
This member mission for suppliers of cheese provides an opportunity to connect with pre-qualified purchasing decision makers from key Central American cheese buying companies. The aim of this mission is to expand cheese exports from the United States to the region, with a focus on increasing the penetration in the foodservice and retail sectors.
The mission will include activities in Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama.
- Day 1 in each market consists of a market briefing and retail tour for U.S. supplier participants to learn more about the in-market opportunities for U.S. cheese.
- Day 2 includes a cheese seminar for the local trade, including importers/distributors, retailers, foodservice operators, food manufacturers and other end-users, highlighting the supply outlook as well as the opportunities and advantages of sourcing U.S. cheese. The seminar will be followed by 1on1 meetings for U.S. suppliers to connect with local buyers.
Additionally, the conclusion of the mission coincides with the start of the Expocomer tradeshow taking place March 25-27 in Panama, offering U.S. suppliers an optional, additional opportunity to connect with the Central American trade.
