Action Requested: Companies Asked to Review Accuracy of China List by August 21, 2015
During a recent audit of U.S. dairy and infant formula facilities, the Chinese government identified some facilities not capable of producing the products listed in their registration. Chinese government officials requested the accuracy of the China facility list be verified and, as a result, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is updating the list of U.S. milk product manufacturers and processors exporting to China.
ALL companies, whether on the list or seeking to be added, are requested to review the information for each registered facility for accuracy. Companies are requested to inform the FDA of any inaccuracies by August 21, 2015.
Below is a table listing dairy products commonly exported to China. Products are identified by Chinese product name, definition, and corresponding 6-digit HS code. Companies are requested to review the table and verify the products each of their facilities are currently approved to ship, or are seeking to ship, to China are correctly identified. Only those products a facility is currently capable of producing should be included on the facility registration.
More detailed instructions follow for certain companies:
- Those companies with facilities currently on the list should verify company name, address, approval number, and listed approved products are correct on the CNCA facility list. No action needs to be taken if all of the listed information is correct.
- Those companies seeking to modify their current listing should email Esther Lazar (Esther.lazar@fda.hhs.gov) on company letterhead, clearly identifying the changes that must be made. Modifications to a current listing could include amending the products a facility is registered to export, or changing the company name, address, or contact information.
- Those companies that have already submitted an application for registration of a facility, and received confirmation of a completed application from Esther Lazar, but are not yet listed on the CNCA website, should also verify the information for each facility is correct. If no modifications are needed companies do not need to take any action at this time. If any modifications for a facility's registration are needed companies should email Esther Lazar (Esther.lazar@fda.hhs.gov) on company letterhead, clearly identifying the changes that must be made.
- Those companies that have not previously submitted an application and are seeking to be added to the list for the first time must follow the FDA guidance. When following the FDA guidance to register a new facility, companies should use the table below to identify the Chinese product names.
- Those companies desiring to remove currently listed facilities should email Esther Lazar (Esther.lazar@fda.hhs.gov) and attach a request for removal of that facility from the list on company letterhead.
All companies are requested to immediately review their registration on the CNCA facility list and/or their application for registration to verify all facility information is correct.
The FDA intends to submit a revised list to the Chinese government in early September. Any company seeking a modification to a facility's listing or application is requested to notify Esther Lazar (Esther.lazar@fda.hhs.gov) no later than August 21, 2015.
