Indonesia Opportunity for U.S. Suppliers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA FAS) has partnered with the government of Indonesia (GOI) to bring U.S. dairy suppliers and Indonesian buyers together to facilitate new business through the U.S.-Indonesia Dairy Roundtable.

The U.S.-Indonesia Dairy Roundtable will take place from 9 am - 3 pm on Monday, September 30 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Speakers will include the USDA's Under Secretary McKinney and Mr. Indrasari Wisnu Warhana, Director General of Indonesia's Ministry of Trade, as well as several USDEC staff. Attendees will have an opportunity to provide company introductions, time will be allotted for exporter/importer one-on-ones. This event presents a unique opportunity for U.S. dairy suppliers to enter Indonesia or expand existing business. For more information on the event or to register to participate, contact Vikki Nicholson-West at vnicholson-west@usdec.org

In preparation for the event, U.S. companies are encouraged to ensure that their Halal certifications and plant registration are in order. See Volume 2 of USDEC's Export Guide for more information on the requirements to ship to Indonesia.

In addition to the U.S.-Indonesia Dairy Roundtable, FAS and the GOI are exploring potential solutions to regulatory issues, including plant registration. Any company that has a plant registration application pending approval or is about to submit an application is encouraged to contact Sandra Benson at sbenson@usdec.org.
